vases 2021.
I began my collection of stoneware vases during the long winter evenings of winter 2021, during the never-ending lockdowns, mentally challenging days, weeks and months in the unpredictable covid situation …. Seeing that spring would come again and things would be better, I had these vases (and spoons) as therapy. I would go to the studio in the evenings and throw my biggest pieces yet on the wheel into the night. My personal best so far is slightly over 3 kg of clay. My favorite part of the whole pottery making process is the turning. It is the process of working the piece in its so-called leathery state (partially dried) with an eyelet and other wrapping tools. It is mainly turned from the underside to create a clean base, or foot, on which to stand, producing spiral-shaped ‘shavings’ of clay of various sizes. Turning these vases was really a beautiful job …

Kolekce kameninových váz začala vznikat za dlouhých zimních večerů zimy 2021, v době nekončících lockdownů, psychicky náročných dní, týdnů a měsíců nastalé situace …. S vidinou, že zase přijde jaro a bude lépe jsem si “naordiovala” právě vázy (a lžičky) jako terapii. Chodila jsem do ateliéru po večerech a do noci točila své dosud největší kusy na kruhu. Osobní maximum mám zatím lehce přes 3 kg hlíny. Moje nejoblíbenější část celého procesu výroby keramiky je obtáčení. Je to proces, při kterém se výrobek v tzv. koženém stavu (částečně usušený) opracovává očkem a dalšími obtáčecími nástroji. Obtáčí se především ze spodní strany, aby vzniklo čisté podední, případně nožka, na které bude stát, a vznikají při tom “hoblinky” hlíny ve tvaru spirál nejrůznějších velikostí. Obtáčení těchto váz byla opravdu nádherná práce …
